Glenn A. Greene, DDS
Ret. Colonel (Dr.) Glenn A. Greene graduated from Ohio University where he
received a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1975. He then dedicated
three years to teaching biology in the Cleveland public school system. Dr.
Greene entered Meharry Medical College in 1978 and graduated with a Doctor of
Dental
Surgery (DDS) degree in 1982. In August of that same year, Dr.
Greene was commissioned as a captain in the United States Army Dental Corps and
served as a general dental officer from 1982-1993 in various assignments
including Division Dentist for the 2nd Infantry Division, Korea. In 1993,
Dr. Greene was selected for specialty training in the field of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Georgia.
Upon graduation in 1997, he was assigned as Staff Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
at Moncrief Army Community Hospital at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He
went on to serve as a mentor for the one-year general dental graduate program
in Fort Jackson and was the Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the 67th
Combat Support Hospital in Wuerzburg, Germany. He also served as Chief of
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at McDonald Army Community Hospital and finally
finished as Deputy Commander at Fort Eustis until his retirement in 2005.
Dr Greene was born and raised in Montclair, New Jersey. Since then he has lived all over the United States and in several foreign countries. He and his lovely wife of thirty years, Mildred, now reside in Beckley after raising their three children. The eldest is a member of the Coast Guard and has blessed them with a grandson. His daughter is in the Army and has added two granddaughters to the fold. His third son has just finished college and is living in South Carolina.
Dr. Greene enjoys running and fishing. He is an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes which leads to lively conversation in the office. Dr. Greene is very active in his church where he teaches Sunday School and is on the deacon board.
Dr. Greene serves patients primarily in the Beckley office and travels to Summersville weekly.
