Financial Information At our
practice we deliver the finest care and services available, charge a fair fee,
and expect to be paid in a timely fashion. We accept many insurance plans. Most insurance companies “wholesale” or reduce our fees
significantly, for allowing us access to their subscribers (you the patient). It
then becomes even more important that they also reimburse us in a prompt
fashion. As a courtesy
service to you, we will assist you in filing your primary insurance claims and allow
45 days for your
insurance company to pay. However, after 45 days, any remaining balance of
your bill is due in full, from you the patient. Any future insurance
reimbursements are then returned to you for any overpayment amounts.
Additionally, most insurance companies do not pay their entire allowable charge,
but make you the patient, personally share in that cost. These costs are
called “copays” and “deductibles.” At our office we require these copays
and deductibles to be prepaid by the time of your surgical visit. For patients
who do not have insurance coverage, we accept cash payment, most major credit
cards, and even offer a special “in-house” credit programs called CARE
CREDIT®, and Citi Health Card.
You may apply for CARE CREDIT® or Citi Health Card during your consultation appointment with
the doctor. These credit accounts are similar to applying for a department store
credit card. One simply fills out the application in our office and
usually within
one hour we are notified of your approval status. CARE CREDIT® and Citi
Health Card offer
fantastic terms and great options, depending on your credit history and the
amount you are financing. We usually
complete the patient’s financial arrangements during the consultation
appointment and then schedule their surgery appointment. However, due to
the patient’s personal schedule constraints such as work, school, etc., we may
schedule only one inclusive appointment called a Consult/Surgery Appointment.
In these cases, the consultation and financial arrangements are completed and
subsequently the surgery is performed that day. This scheduling option
works quite well unless there are unmentioned health problems or there are any
delays with the patient’s insurance, etc. This can be more
burdensome on the patient, as they must satisfy the financial arrangements that
day and allow their insurance carrier to eventually reimburse them. The
time constraint of consult/same day surgery may reduce some of the patient’s
financial options. We usually recommend 2 appointments with any complex
case or multiple insurance plans where the patient desires maximum payment from
their insurance carrier(s). If there are
other questions you may have about oral and maxillofacial surgery or our
practice and can not find it in this website, then please call us during regular
business hours and we will be more than happy to provide that information or
make a consultation appointment for you or your family member. NOTICE TO WEB SITE BROWSERS: This web site is provided for information and education purposes only.
